Liz Glynn at Central Park

Transforming Doris C. Freedman Plaza into an open air ballroom, Liz Glynn's Open House draws inspiration from one of the grandest 5th Avenue mansions of the Gilded Age. Designed by architect Stanford White, the now-demolished William C. Whitney Ballroom was once located just eight blocks away from the entrance of Central Park and epitomized the opulence of the wealthy elite during the period. Glynn’s reinterpretation of the space featuring 26 pieces of furniture and arches invites us to experience an exclusive interior space that is now open and accessible to all.
